Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup almonds (soaked overnight)
- 1/4 cup cashews (soaked overnight)
- 1/4 cup melon seeds (magaz)
- 1/4 cup poppy seeds (khus khus)
- 1/4 cup dried rose petals
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
- 1/2 tsp black peppercorns
- 1/4 tsp saffron threads
- 4-5 dates, pitted (for sweetness)
- 4 cups Almond milk (A2 milk optional)
Method:
- In a blender, combine the soaked almonds, cashews, melon seeds, poppy seeds, dried rose petals, cardamom powder, fennel seeds, black peppercorns, saffron threads and pitted dates.
- Add a little Almond milk and blend into a smooth paste.
- Gradually add the remaining milk and blend until everything is well combined.
- Strain the mixture using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove any coarse particles.
- Chill the Thandai in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving.
- Serve chilled and garnish with a sprinkle of crushed almonds or pistachios if desired.
