INGREDIENTS

For the dough:

For the filling:

  • 50 gms grated coconut
  • 2 tbsp almonds, chopped
  • 2 tbsp pistachios, chopped
  • 2 tbsp cashew nuts, chopped
  • 4 tbsp dates, chopped
  • 2 tbsp raisins, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix the khapli wheat flour with A2 ghee. Gradually add water to make a soft and smooth dough. Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix all the ingredients for the filling.
  3. Divide the dough into 15 small balls. Dust and roll each ball into a 5-inch circle.
  4. Place a small amount of filling in the centre of each circle, then fold it to make a semicircle. Press and seal the ends securely. Repeat for all the dough balls.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place the gujiyas on it.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they turn brown.
