Preparation time:10 minutes

Total time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

2 cups of roasted, unsalted peanuts

A pinch of salt and a few drops of raw, unpasteurized honey (adjust to taste)

Method:

  1. Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the peanuts to the dry skillet in a single layer.
  3. Stir the peanuts frequently to ensure even roasting.
  4. Roast for about 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown and fragrant.
  5. Remove the peanuts from the heat and let them cool slightly.
  6. Transfer the roasted peanuts to a food processor or a high-powered blender.
  7. Process the peanuts until they form a thick paste, scraping down the sides as needed. This will take about 5-10 minutes.
  8. If you prefer smoother peanut butter, continue processing until you reach your desired consistency. For chunky peanut butter, leave some larger pieces of peanuts intact.
  9. Add a pinch of salt, honey, and blend for another minute to combine.
  10. Transfer the peanut butter to a clean, airtight jar, and store it in the refrigerator. It will thicken slightly as it cools.

Tips

- You can experiment with different variations by adding ingredients like cacoa powder, cinnamon, or vanilla extract for flavoured peanut butter.

- Ensure the peanuts are completely cool before processing to avoid ending up with a runny consistency.
